Funeral Planning Tips...What are you waiting for?!
I know many of you are likely thinking, "Hey, what's with the doom & gloom!?"
.... Well, due to recent unfortunate family circumstances, I feel an obligation to help my new friends (you) be fully prepared for any & all aspects to preparing for your future of yourself and /or your family in the event of your /or a family members death. Brief history~
Saturday, March 15, 2008 my 25 year old 2nd cousin passed away unexpectedly and under horrible circumstances and 40 years after we laid to rest his great Grandmother, his funeral was Saturday, March 22, 2008. He is survived by a very young child and girlfriend who is presently 7 months pregnant. You are wondering, yes, that is horrible, so what does this have to do with me? They had NO INSURANCE!
I'm not here to "sell you anything"! I merely want everyone to be fully aware that "Life, already too short, is a precious gift... treasure every minute of it while it lasts!!" ~~~~ AND please, do your research now, before it's too late and Insure yourself & family members, prepare a will, purchase a cemetary plot, make necessary arrangements so that your loved ones during their time of grief will not have to struggle to research & make rash decisions regarding locations, etc... Remember, your loved ones (family & friends) will be grieving AND Financially unprepared to make necessary and desired arrangements on your behalf!!!
Quick Tips:
1) Review & prepare a Summary of your assets, debts, stocks,bonds, credit cards, even those with NO balance, mortgage documents, airmiles #, other "points club info", utilities, safety deposit box, bank accounts, list of close friends (those that family may be unaware of & include contact information & relationship), income sources, etc... and have them all recorded in great detail, including Account numbers,passport Id's, etc., passcodes, emergency customer support contact phone numbers, explaination of what each "item" is, when payments are due, when income is expected to be deposited, etc... *** Include everything you can possible think (even if you feel it is irrelevant ,because from experience, I know there is always something forgotten! :(
2) Have multiple copies of this "Reference Summary", your will, any deeds to house, etc...; keys to safety deposit box, personal recommendations of what you'd like to have in regards to funeral arrangements, and any other relevant documents locked in a fireproof lockbox and ensure that a close relative or trusted friend also has a key to this box.

I certainly did not mean for that! :) Take this very seriously, review your own "situations" and perhaps this article will ensure your grieving family members won't have to suffer the extreme confusion & hardship that mine has during this past week and in the future ahead. For anyone who might be interested, My cousin's sister has set up a "Trust account" for Taylor at a local bank and I am looking to launch a traffic exchange where the funds will go into TRUST for my 2nd cousin (Shawn's)children.
